REINHA.com – Far in the north of East Flores, there is a village that has an amazing beauty. It’s called Watowara, a developing village that is now the capital of the Titehena sub-district which has a natural beauty that has not been touched by the nosy hands of humans. In Titehena sub-district itself there are always another unspoiled natural beauties, such as Lato beach, lake Ranai, and mangrove cultivation.

For Lato beach, it has white sand with a lot of coconut trees on its coast as a shelter. Lake Ranai has formed naturally and a habitat of aves such as ducks, geese, white cockatoos, turtles, partridges, storks, and etc. There are milkfish and cork fish. As for the reptiles there are lizards, snakes, except crocodiles. Despite the cloudy water conditions, beauty can be seen in parts of the Ranai lakes which are overgrown with mangroves as a form of exotic charm.

By the way, the meaning of the name of Watowara itself comes from two words namely “Wato” and “Wara”. Wato means stone and Wara means storm. So Watowara can be interpreted as a rock that stand tall despite being hit by a storm in the westerly season.

Walking a little deeper we will find an amazing place. It is called Tanah Merah because it has a red soil. In this place, you will find a beautiful beach decorated with stunning coral clusters. This coral clusters form a beautiful cliffs and will make you stunned. In addition, there is a unique view of the umberella stone and it is very suitable to be used as a place for photos for those who like to take selfies. (Watch the video here)

From Larantuka the capital city of East Flores, you will need 1 hour and 30 minutes to reach this place. Road access is currently in the process of being repaired and approved must be in the next month so there are no obstacles to reach this place.
